Heather Fox Heather has accompanied BJCS since 1980. As the daughter of a church organist, music played an important part in her young life. She learned to play piano, viola and recorders. She performed piano solos in concerts and competitions in Yorkshire and on tour in Germany and played viola in Scarborough and Yorkshire Youth Orchestras. Heather trained as a primary school teacher at Clifton College of Education, specialising in music. She was principal oboist in the college orchestra and continued developing her piano playing through working as a soloist and accompanist. Heather taught in Primary Education for twenty five years holding responsibility posts for music which involved arranging and teaching music for recorder and guitar groups, orchestras and choirs. She directed many musicals including Joseph, Oliver, Creation Jazz, Jonah Man and her own composition The Tale of a mouse. In 1992 she decided to concentrate on playing and teaching the piano. Studying with Mary Foulds, she passed two further diplomas: ALCM AND LGSM. Heather has continued to teach piano in  Burton Joyce since 1979 and taught at Nottingham Girls High School for 17 years.
